New Jersey governor Chris Christie plans to enjoy the weekend campaigning in New Hampshire while his homestate braces for the worst winter storm in years.
NJ.com explained that Christie “said he has no plans for now to cut short his campaign trip in New Hampshire and return to New Jersey for the impending storm, saying the lieutenant governor can handle the situation.” RELATED: Pa. declares state of emergency, American Airlines cancels PHL flights as blizzard looms New Jersey’s neighbor, Pennsylvania, has already declared a state of emergency with Philadelphia’s Office of Emergency Management placing a blizzard watch in effect from Friday night to Sunday morning. Christie added that he delegated emergency response to his executive team and is confident things willwork out just fine.”I gave everybody their assignments,” Christie told reporters. “I’ll be back on the phone at 10 p.m. tonight. They know if they need me before then, they just call me and get me.” The governor is in New Hampshire campaigning for the Republican nomination for president.

He badly trails billionaire reality TV star, and current GOP presidential front-runner,Donald Trump who enjoys 34 percent support– but Christie is tied with Gov. John Kasich of Ohio and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky. That same poll showed Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas with 14 percent and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and current Sen. Marco Rubio each with 10 percent.
