The students taking part in Wednesday’s National Walkout Day have an ally in “Captain America” star Chris Evans.

The Marvel movie actor and Massachusetts native took to his Twitter account to offer his support to all of the young people who are taking a stand against gun violence in the wake of the deadly shooting in Parkland, Florida. Evans, who frequently uses his social media platform to speak out on a variety of issues, has been inspired by today’s generation of young activists.

In addition to showing his support for the students, Evans also weighed in on the role of the 2nd Ammendment.

“The young people of this generation give me so much hope. Are u listening @GOP?” Evans wrote. “Time for gun laws to change. And for you 2A-ers, relax, no one is saying you cant own a gun, your right to ‘bear arms shall not be infringed’. Just looking for common sense reform!”

This isn’t the first time that Evans has tweeted about the topic, as he recently called out controversial filmmaker and ring-wing commentator Dinesh D’Souza for mocking Parkland shooting survivors on Twitter last month.

Evans has criticized President Donald Trump in the past as well for his response to the deadly attack in Charlottesville last year.

“MANY SIDES?!?” Evans wrote on Twitter over the summer. “Ive typed and deleted at least 8 tweets. Words simply arent strong enough to accurately describe how I feel about Donald Trump.”
