City Centre for Digestive Motility gets 250K grant

A new Centre for Digestive Motility is chewing on a $250,000 donation towards the creation of the first facility of its kind.

The joint fundraising initiative of the University of Calgary and the Calgary Health Region announced the gift to go towards the new centre will be the only one in the country.

Local philanthropists Jeanne Keith-Ferris and Don Ferris made the gift towards the centre after first hand experiences with digestive motility disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

“We hope our gift will inspire others to give as well. So much more is needed to truly start to understand and deal with these conditions,” Keith Ferris said.
