Temperatures are expected to soar to triple digits in the city this week as the second heat wave of the summer rolls in, weather officials warned.

A heat advisory remains in effect until Tuesday night for all five boroughs, according to the National Weather Service.

Due to high humidity, the heat index – what the temperature actually feels like – is expected to reach 101 degrees on Monday and 99 degrees on Tuesday.

It could get even worse by later in the week, with the heat index reaching 105 by Thursday, according to forecasters.

Weather officials say residents should drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activity.

The city’s Office of Emergency Management is reminding New Yorkers that the city’s pools, beaches and more than 400 cooling centers will be open. Individuals can call 311 to find the nearest cooling center.
