Clear, sunny skies ahead in NYC after wintry weekend

The weekend’s wintry bluster came and went, opening up the rest of the week to more seasonable fall weather.

The National Weather Service expects New York City to stay dry through Thursday, with mostly sunny and clear skies with temperatures remaining no higher than 73 degrees.

Nights can still get chilly, however, with lows expected to hit as low as 52 degrees overnight.

New Yorkers were ultimately spared from Hurricane Joaquin despite early predictions it would hit the Tri-State area.

Instead, however, wind gusts as high as 35 mph hit and temperatures stayed in the low 50s between Friday and Saturday.

Two people died on Friday night after their boat capsized in Jamaica Bay. Three others on the boat were treated and released.
