Close your curtains against masturbating peeping tom: Police

Halifax Regional Police are warning people to “close their curtains at night” after receiving several reports of a man masturbating outside of women’s windows in Clayton Park.

“We’ve received a few complaints,” police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said Monday.

A 33-year-old woman saw a male masturbating outside her Caxton Close apartment just before midnight Sunday night, according to a police report.

She was watching television when she noticed him, but didn’t realize what he was doing until she confronted him, police said. She called police but the suspect fled before they arrived.

Another resident also reported seeing a man masturbating in the area over the weekend, in a wooded area near Willett Street at 12:40 a.m. Saturday.

Palmeter said the two incidents could be related. A suspect was described to police as a white male who is between 170 and 180 pounds, about five-foot-eight, has bad teeth and pale skin.

He was wearing a black hat, dark hoodie and baggy blue jeans.

There have been about four other similar incidents since April 1, Palmeter said.
