The Brown Bears visit the Yale Bulldogs tonight at 7 p.m. ET at the Payne Whitney Gymnasium in an Ivy League showdown. These two teams last met on Saturday, Jan. 19 where the Bulldogs came out on top 70-67.
The Bears are 12-5 overall and 0-1 in the conference. Their loss to Yale snapped their six-game winning streak spanning back to Dec. 8. So far this season, Brown tends to struggle on the road. They are just .500 this year at 4-4.
Brown is led by sophomore guard Desmond Cambridge who averages 18.1 PPG on 44.9% shooting. Overall, the Bears are just an average shooting team; they shoot 46.1% from the field and 34.1% from three.
Although the Bears are average on offense, they do play pretty good defense. They hold their opponents to shooting just 39.9% from the field and 27.9% from behind the arc.
Yale is 11-3, 1-0 in the conference and is currently on a seven-game winning streak. The Bulldogs will have the advantage in tonight’s contest due to their superior 5-0 home record.
The Bulldogs are also an elite shooting team; they are ranked first in the Ivy League in field goal percentage shooting an incredible 49.8% from the field. They are also one of the best teams in defending the three-point shot. They hold their opponents to just 25% shooting from the behind the arc.
Not only is Yale the best scoring team and one of the best at defending the three, but they can also distribute the basketball at a very high level. The Bulldogs average 18.8 assists per game which leads the conference.
