Q: What is your fondest memory from your family kitchen?

A: Getting a toy space shuttle from my dad for eating all my rice. Also, I remember eating from a jar of peanut butter. I wonder how I gained 100 lb.?

Q: What kitchen aromas bring back fond memories?

A: Pancakes. It reminds me of having breakfast at my granny’s house.

Q: Who is your favourite cook?

A: My granny, then my mother. My granny could make anything, and was amazing, yet she never used measurements. That’s talent! My mom is really good, but hates to cook.

Q: What is your favourite food to cook?

A: Anything with ground turkey in it.

Q: Do you use cookbooks?

A: Not really. I don’t like being told what to do. I have a natural rebellious spirit.

Q: How did the first meal you prepared turn out?

A: Not really a meal, more like a hit and run. I made cookies with my sister, that were good 30 seconds after they came out of the oven, then they hardened instantly like rocks. I broke my braces several times trying to eat them. I wonder how I gained 100 lbs. …

Q: What rituals from your background involving food do you partake in?

A: I love to talk with people about everything when I eat. I think conversation is a huge thing with food. Like so many cultures, my family did it, so did my wife’s. Politics and cake is awesome!
