Firefighters battled a blaze in a downtown condominium complex yesterday morning.
Firefighters were called to a blaze at the River Valley Condos, on 105 Street and 97 Avenue around 8 a.m. It appears the fire started just before 8 a.m. in a carport next to the building. The fire was considered to be under control just before 8:30 a.m. and declared out by 9:10 a.m.
“Investigators have determined there was about $300,000 of damages caused by the fire,” said fire spokesperson Tim Wilson. “The cause is undetermined, but they did conclude that the fire started inside a car.”
Crews spent the morning clearing smoke from the 12-storey building and investigating the cause.
There are no reports of injuries.
