Cops investigating three robberies

Halifax Regional Police are on the lookout for several suspects after a rash of robberies took place late Monday, including one where a worker in a hospital parking booth was threatened by someone who claimed to have a knife.

Police say the knife incident took place at 10:15 p.m. in the parking booth at the Victoria General at 1278 South Park St. in Halifax. Police say a white man knocked on the door, forced his way inside, threatened he had a knife and demanded the cash till be open. Police say the suspect then took all the bills and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is described as six-foot, between 190 and 200 pounds, with dark clothing and white sneakers.

About 90 minutes later, police say another robbery took place as a man walking on Evans Avenue in Fairview was approached and assaulted by three suspects. He had his cellphone stolen.

The other alleged robbery took place at 5:45 p.m. as a man was walking down Dublin Street in Halifax. Police say the victim was approached by two black males who demanded his iPod and threatened to harm him if he called anyone. The victim wasn’t injured and police say the suspects left the area.
