A 14-year-old girl likely avoided abduction when she refused a man’s demand that she get into his van.
Police are investigating the suspicious incident that happened at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday. The girl was walking at the intersection of Riverdale Avenue and Echo Drive when a blue “delivery-style” van pulled up alongside her and the male motorist twice asked the teen is she wanted a ride.
When the girl twice refused him, the man demanded she get into the back of his van. He then drove away after she refused.
The suspect is described as a white male, with a tanned complexion, brush cut and a muscular or stocky build.
