Cops search for hundreds of local fugitives

As the FBI, state and Long Island cops search for a suspected serial killer, Suffolk and Nassau County cops are also hunting hundreds of criminals on the run.

Alleged drug dealers, thieves, criminal mischief-makers and other law-breakers have all slipped through the criminal justice system. According to the “Long Island Fugitive Finder,” a book Suffolk County police keep handy, here’s a closer look at three criminals on the lam.

Alleged heroin seller Marcella Brako has been eluding East End cops since April 2008, when cops said she was busted with a massive quantity of heroin she intended to sell. The blue-eyed, brown-haired Brako is set to celebrate her 31st birthday Thursday.

Another most-wanted person, Patrick Bakali, allegedly took nearly $4,000 in drugs while employed at a Rite Aid pharmacy in Patchogue.

Jason Kramer, 31, has been on the lam from Suffolk cops since November 2007. The fugitive allegedly slammed another person in the head with a door.

Dean Murray said he founded the Long Island Fugitive Finder website to help police officers.
