Cops seek Manhattan subway slasher

Cops are on the lookout for a man who used his hands and a box cutter to send four New Yorkers in and around Union Square to the hospital early Wednesday morning.

Authorities said the unidentified assailant started his spree at around 1:20 a.m.

The suspect — described as a heavyset black man wearing a white hooded sweater, black vest, blue jeans and red sneakers — jumped on uptown 4 train at the Broadway and Lafayette station at the same time as a 35-year-old man.

The attacker approached the man on the train and punched him in the face while holding an open box cutter, leaving the man bleeding with a cut to the right side of his face.

The blade-wielding suspect stepped off of the train at Union Square and began to run away when he came across a 20-year-old woman and slapped her.

Cops said he that’s when he made his way toward the stairs near the station’s 14th Street and Fourth Avenue exit. Once above ground, the attacker asked a 46-year-old man for $2. The man refused, and the suspect slashed the man’s face and turned to cross the street.

He crossed 14th Street to approach a 59-year-old man waiting at a bus stop. The man refused to give the assailant a dollar and became the fourth and last known victim of the night with a slash to the face.

All four victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, while cops try to identify and locate the attacker.
