Cops sorry for pushing woman

The Vancouver Police Department apologized on Thursday for the June 9 incident where an officer allegedly pushed a disabled woman to the ground and kept walking.

Const. Jana McGuinness said that an investigation into the incident is under way and the officer has not been suspended.

McGuinness added that the officer has apologized to the woman.

“I can reassure you that the apology was very heartfelt and very earnest and offered directly to the woman,” she said.

The B.C. Civil Liberties Association released surveillance footage of the incident yesterday.
