Council approves new zoning for Lansdowne

The Lansdowne Partnership Plan has taken another step forward.

Despite calls to delay rezoning since the city had not received a heritage report on the plan, city council approved the change Wednesday by a vote of 14-9. The new zoning allows for all the current uses and the commercial and residential development.

It also signals the end for Sylvia Holden Park. The strip of grass that runs along the south side of Holmwood Avenue can now be replaced by townhomes and a tower up to 52 metres in height at the corner at Bank Street
