Craig Burrows makes Calgary mayoral announcment official

Former Ward 6 Alderman Craig Burrows said today that the current city council has lost touch with the citizens of Calgary.

Burrows made his mayoral run official Tuesday, in front of supporters in the heart of Inglewood- at Spolumbos.

“The last 3 years has seen a council that has lost touch with the people they were meant to serve,” said Burrows.

“I will work with Calgarians to establish a vision based on open communication, building consensus and commitment to action.”

Burrows announcement makes seven in the race to replace current mayor Dave Bronconnier, who announced earlier this year that he would not be seeking re-election.

In the last election, Burrows lost his seat to current Ward 6 alderman Joe Connelly – who announced last month his intentions to also vie for the mayor’s chair.
