Sidney Crosby is doing what he can to make sure everybody shares in his celebration with the Stanley Cup.
Paul Mason, who heads the organizing committee for the Cup’s visit to Cole Harbour tomorrow, has been talking to Crosby and his family on a daily basis in planning the event.
The Pittsburgh Penguins captain — who also celebrates his 22nd birthday tomorrow — has been hands-on throughout the process and doesn’t want anyone to be left out.
“He’s excited,” Mason said. “He wants to be involved in it and he’s not just going to show up and leave. The hard part, the challenge, is that he wants everyone to get a picture with the Cup, but realistically, it’s not physically possible.”
The parade begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Metro Link bus terminal on Portland Street and concludes at Cole Harbour Place. Eighty-seven lucky fans — selected via a ballot draw — will get their picture taken with Crosby and the Cup. Later on, there will be limited photo opportunities with the Cup in the Cole Harbour Place parking lot.
