Daytime shooting incident rattles north end

Gun shots rang out in Halifax Regional Municipality Monday for the third day in a row.

Halifax Regional Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said officers responded to several calls just before 2 p.m. and “believe three shots were fired” in Halifax’s north end.

“A suspect described as a black male wearing a dark baggy jacket was seen wearing eastbound on Macara Street,” he said.

Witnesses saw another man running south on Isleville Street, Palmeter said, but added “we don’t know if (he) is involved.”

As of Monday evening, police hadn’t received reports of any injuries.

“We’re very concerned that this incident happened in broad daylight in a residential area,” Palmeter said.
