Dead man found bound, dressed in a latex suit

Police on Monday found the body of a young lighting designer dressed in a mask and latex suit with his hands cuffed behind his back in his Battery Park City apartment. Authorities are investigating the possibility that Alejandro Bulaevsky, 26, who was found on his kitchen floor Monday evening, may have been killed during kinky sex, according to reports. There was reportedly no obvious sign of trauma.

A super entered the luxury apartment at 90 West St. and found Bulaevsky after his boyfriend in England grew worried that he was unable to reach him, the New York Post reported. Family and co-workers reportedly also contacted police after he didn’t show up for work and couldn’t be found.

There were no obvious signs of a break-in or theft. A security camera recorded him entering the building Sunday night, sources told the Post.

Results of the autopsy scheduled yesterday were pending further study, said Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the Medical Examiner’s office.

Bulaevsky was a partner at Matirical, a small firm that designed lighting for hotels and restaurants in New York, Las Vegas and Nashville.

Bulaevsky attended NYU Tisch and Parsons The New School for Design, according to the company’s Web site.
