Delayed MBTA trains leave commuters in the cold

A day after the MBTA announced possible service cuts and fare increases of up to 43 percent, a multitude of Red Line commuters were left in the cold waiting for their morning trains.

According to the alerts sent out by the MBTA to notify passengers of delays, there were disabled trains at Downtown Crossing, Wollaston and between Alewife and Harvard, which had early morning riders in an uproar.

As they stood in the cold, the Twitterverse exploded with responses from riders ticked off that at the start of winter, there were already issues with their train rides.

One passenger even took a video of the people waiting in the frigid weather, as an announcement over the loud speaker told them to expect “significant delays.”
