Paul Naraine, vice president of operations for Phototech, offers some quick tips for keeping your digital camera in working order for the new year:
Don’t clean the lens often
“Because of the constant cleaning, the coating comes off, and the lens needs to be replaced,” says Naraine. “The best way to think about camera lens cleaning is to limit cleaning to only smudges, large specs of dirt or hairs.”
Keep a debris-free case
Naraine recommends vacuuming out your camera case every six months.
Watch that memory
Naraine warns users to be certain the symbols align correctly when inserting camera batteries and memory cards. Often memory card pins can get bent out of shape if inserted incorrectly.
