The missing person case of Nadine Taylor is now considered a homicide.
The 29-year-old Halifax woman, who worked as prostitute, went missing July 28 when she left her home in Halifax to make a call and never returned.
“Nadine has not been located yet. However we’re determined to continue on in our investigation in hopes of finding her,” said Const. Brian Palmeter with the Halifax Regional Police.
Palmeter wouldn’t say what specifically led police to change the status of the case.
Officers spent about seven days in August searching the Weyburn Road home in Dartmouth of Steven Elliot Laffin, 36. He is in jail facing charges of kidnapping, forcible confinement, aggravated sexual assault and death threats against a woman.
The charges stem from an incident on Aug. 16, allegedly involving a prostitute from Spryfield. She was allegedly locked in a trunk and escaped while the vehicle was moving. His next court date is Oct. 19.
Palmeter would not say if Laffin is a suspect in the Taylor homicide, or if there are any suspects.
