The Jets have done a lot of winning lately but a big loss could be on the horizon. And it won’t have anything to do with the San Diego Chargers.
The Buffalo Bills asked for and were granted permission yesterday to talk with Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer about their head coaching vacancy, according to reports.
Schottenheimer, who is in his fourth year with the team, has interviewed for three different head coaching positions in the past.
The Jets are gearing up for Sunday’s playoff game in San Diego and can determine when Schottenheimer will interview with the Bills. That sitdown will likely come Friday after the Jets have finalized preparations for the Chargers.
Rex Ryan has said numerous times he planned on losing Schottenheimer to a head coaching position down the road.
