Rapper DMX was saved by a team of first responders after his “lifeless” body was found in the parking lot of a Yonkers hotel, The Journal News reported.
Police reportedly received a call around 6 p.m. Monday evening regarding an unconscious man in the parking lot of a Ramada Inn. First responders immediately began CPR on him after determining he was unconscious.
Once DMX, legal name Earl Simmons, began breathing emergency crews ”gave the man Narcan, which is typically used to reverse the effects of heroin and opiate-based prescription drugs, such as oxycodone,” The Journal News reports.
A witness reportedly told investigators they saw DMX ingest a powder before collapsing, TMZ reported
DMX was then taken to a hospital where he recovered. Investigators told the Journal that no drugs were found on the scene, and that no criminal charges were being pressed.
“[Murray] Richman, the rapper’s lawyer, said Simmons has asthma and believes he may have had an asthma attack.” The Journal News reported. “Asked if Simmons told him whether he had taken any drugs last night, his lawyer replied, ‘No comment.’
