It’s illegal to not have any type of insurance plan anymore, but even with insurance, out-of-pocket costs can be high.GOBankingRates.com recently conducted a study of all 50 states (plus the District of Columbia), taking a look at how much residents were paying for health insurance.

The official ranking is out and brings terrible news if you live in New York state. The study found that New York had the highest health insurance plan of all. Nearby New Jersey also made the top 10 list of most expensive health insurance states, coming in at number five.
