Dough to unveil new flavor on National Donut Day

The lesson for this week is: If you just hang in there until Friday, good things await.

On this, our National Donut Day, pastry powerhouse Dough (of the Insta-star Hibiscus Doughnut) is introducing a new flavor: Matcha Sugar.

Inspired by the trendy Japanese green tea that has blown up in recent months, the new flavor will be available at all Dough locations, including their newest outpost at the Times Square food hall City Kitchen. Only a few batches are being made, so maybe swing by before the Summer Friday hordes descend on Midtown.

Foursquare revealed this week that Dough’s 305 Franklin Ave. location is the highest-rated doughnut shop in the city. Doughnut Plant (#3), Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop (#5) and Dun-Well Doughnuts (#12) also made the top 20.
