Set during the Algerian Civil War of the early 1990s, it’s the fact-basedstory of seven Christian monks from France, who live harmoniously amongst Muslims in a mountainous village.
When tensions erupt between the Algerian government and Islamic fundamentalists, foreigners are told to leave. The monks’ leader, Brother Christian (Lambert Wilson), wants to stay, despite the danger, as the villagers desperately need assistance.
