Sustainable style
This coming Tuesday evening, a heady mix of both emerging and established design talent will converge at the Berkeley Church (315 Queen St. E.) for an evening of eco-chic fashions, in support of the World Wildlife Federation. Expect to see fresh ensembles by the likes of Preloved, Susan Harris, Twice-Shy, Grassroots, Oqoqo, Frog Pond, OLOGY and several others.
Part of the Green Carpet Series, Sustainable Style, aims to raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause (WWF) by showcasing stylish offerings created with recycled and/or organic materials.
Guests will enjoy a stylish mix of hip, environmentally friendly wearables presented on a grass runway — plus gourmet nibbles and drinks. Bonus: local media and entertainment faves (think Sarah Slean, Evan Solomon, Wendy Mesley and more) will serve as models, while cutie-pie George Stroumboulopoulos (of CBC’s The Hour) co-hosts the event with new-ish daytime TV host Gill Deacon.

Reitmans is poised to launch a capsule collection of limited-edition denim — what the company is calling The Perfect Jeans.
Last season, Reitmans’ denim line vanished in a wink. Improving on an already popular roster, this Canadian budget retailer cleverly tested its newest jean pattern on its own employees. Volunteers in a range of sizes offered feedback and helped evolve the denim lovelies into what could be the real woman’s It jeans of spring 2007.
They sit just below the waist, feature a subtle bootcut flare, hug the body with just a hint of stretch and the denim is dark — a key slimming detail that flatters all body types. Preloved sale
The second annual Preloved warehouse sale ends today, so make sure to pop into the production studios (24 Ryerson, suite 100) between noon and 7 p.m. to scoop up deep deals on samples and one-offs from last season.

Fairweather finds
FF hit Fairweather’s winter sale and was astounded by the tempting deals peppered all over the store.
Score of the week: 100 per cent cashmere sweaters in various styles and colours are currently buy one, get TWO free for just $69. Yes, that means you get three sweaters that end up costing less than $25 each. Dreamy.
FF also scooped up a surprisingly flattering chocolate brown quilted, down-filled coat from the Isaac Mizrahi collection for $79 (regular $150-$250 each). H&M continues to liquidate fall/winter merchandise, by offering an extra 50 per cent off any red-ticketed item.
