Your favorite British ginger singer is heading to TV: Entertainment Weekly reports that Ed Sheeran will be appearing in “The Bastard Executioner,” the new show from “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter. The show is about a knight who lays down his sword to escape his violent life, but as often happens in Kurt Sutter shows, that violence somehow finds him again. The show stars Darren Evans and former “True Blood” vampire Stephen Moyer, as well as “Sons” alum Katey Sagal.

Sheeran won’t be a series regular, but he is scheduled to be recurring. He’ll be Sir Cormac, an“ambitious and deadly protegeof a high-ranking church elder.” At least he’s not playing Sir Robin.

“Bastard Executioner” is set to premiere on FX in October.
