Edmonton Open ends in sudden death playoff

Excitement went over par yesterday as the final round of the Telus Edmonton Open concluded with a sudden death playoff hole between California’s James Hahn and British Columbia’s Jim Rutledge.

Although both players finished at 16 under par, Hahn proved to be victorious and for the first time was thrust into the winner’s circle.

“It is just jaw-dropping,” said Hahn. “I almost cried.”

The Glendale Golf and Country Club played host to 156 of the world’s finest golfers as the tournament swung its way into Edmonton.

The Telus Edmonton Open also presented the Edmonton Garrison Military Family Resource Centre, the charitable recipient with a $35,000 cheque towards its Grief and Loss and Deployment Support programs.
