Embrace the man bracelet

Male jewelry used to be the mainstay of the gap-year student, wayward teens and counter cultures like punks and rockers. Then the metrosexual trend and a certain David Beckham came along and changed everything. Now, you’re just as likely to see a stack of colorful bracelets on the arm of an off-duty investment banker as a bohemian.

“Stars made it acceptable,”?says Robert Tateossian, whose eponymous global jewelry line is helping to fuel the trend. He recalls the Live Strong charity band craze, which made the idea of arm adornment more acceptable.

The retail world may be slow to catch on. “A lot of retail buyers around the world still stick to their credo of ‘men do not wear bracelets,'”?he admits. But he’s seen his sales increase between 10 to 20 percent over the past few years. We round up four of the most popular styles at the moment.
