Who among us would not enjoy two hours of visualizing the worst-case scenario of a global outbreak of an incurable disease? No? Well Matt Damon is in it, as are Kate Winslet and Marion Cotillard. That should change your mind.
A tale of two boxing brothers makes us think of last year’s giant hit, “The Fighter,” but this film starring Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy is an entirely different beast set in the mixed martial arts world.
7. ‘Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star’
The guy behind this summer’s “Zookeeper,” Adam Sandler, goes a bit more blue with this story about a clueless midwesterner who moves to L.A. in order to follow in his parents’ footsteps and become an adult film star.
8. ‘The Debt’
Helen Mirren plays a secret agent seeking a Nazi criminal she first investigated in 1965; flashbacks go between present and past.
9. ‘Shark Night 3D’
Sharks will eat innocent humans by way of a demented psychopath who uses the deadly sea creatures as his instruments of torture.
