3 Alternatives to the corner bar

TJ Sassani, founder of Zozi.com, on ways to spice up your next dinner and drinks excursion.

TJ Sassani, founder of Zozi.com, on ways to spice up your next dinner and drinks excursion:

1
Mix adventure with food and drink.
“Instead of just going to a restaurant, make a day trip,” says Sassani. “For instance: How about mixing a day of river tubing with a wine tasting in the afternoon?”

2 Get on the water.
“Look into seeing New York from a new perspective — from the water. I love something like a stand-up comedy cruise. So many times people get out on the water and say, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen New York from this perspective.’”

3 Explore neighborhoods. Sassani recommends culinary walking tours as a great way to explore areas and cuisines in the city you might not be familiar with. “If you don’t have plans, why not go and explore a neighborhood you’ve never been to?” he suggests. “You can find so many areas with unique and exotic restaurants.”
