5 reasons to go to the movies this weekend

1. ‘Real Steel’

A movie about boxing robots sounds something a couple of studio executives came up with after a few too many. But yes, it’s real, and Hugh Jackman is starring in it. Not only will robots box, but one particularly downtrodden robot boxer will be rehabilitated by a down-on-his-luck promoter (Jackman).

2. ‘Ides of March’

George Clooney directs and stars in this political thriller based on the Broadway play “Farragut North” about an ambitious political strategist (Ryan Gosling) who finds his integrity challenged by a cynical political world during the Democratic primaries. Backs will be stabbed — very nice-looking backs, at that.

3. ‘50/50’

We’re not sure that audiences will be breaking down the doors trying to get in to see a comedy about a 27-year-old man coping with spinal cancer, but if Seth Rogen’s showing up to the party as his best friend, maybe everyone else will join in.

4. ‘What’s Your Number?’

Anna Faris’ city girl learns from a magazine article that the more people she’s slept with, the less likely it is she’ll find love. She goes on a mission to reconnect with every ex she’s ever had in order to settle down.

5. ‘Dream House’

Real-life newlyweds Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig bring their believable sizzle to this haunted-house thriller.
