Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival
Sept. 18-22, various times
The Bell House, 149 Seventh St. Union Hall, 702 Union St.
In addition to the usual star-studded cast of comedians, this year looks to be aiming to make science fun by including Neil DeGrasse Tyson (“Cosmos”) and Bill Nye “The Science Guy. Themed skits like “Gowanus Idol” and “You’re the Expert” are paired with fun activities like The Eye Contact Booth and a bouncy castle that comes with a therapist inside (so you can bounce your thoughts off them).
Sept. 19-21,6 p.m (Fri) 3 p.m. (Sat-Sun)
The Brooklyn Army Terminal
140 58th St., Sunset Park
Painters, sculptors, photographers and experimental mixed media artists will be spread throughout two buildings along the Sunset Park waterfront to offer a glimpse into more than 80 studios.
The Dandy Warhols
Sept. 20, 9 p.m.
Music Hall of Williamsburg
66 N. Sixth St., 718-486-5400
The band has changed a bit in their 20 years, shifting from a lo-fi garage sound to Britpop on their major label debut “...The Dandy Warhols Come Down,” and fortunately continued to do so. “Bohemian Like You” probably earned them enough scratch to call it a day if they’d wanted, but luckily they’re still touring and coming through our town (with The Brian Jonestown Massacre).
Sept. 20-21, 10 a.m.
New York Hall of Science
47-01 111th St., Corona
The show-and-tell festival of hobbyist and professional art and tech enthusiasts celebrates creative types who put their minds to work in the service of science. Highlights include Game of Drones, a drone sports and combat zone, plus a life-size mousetrap and a Power Racing Series.

Have you ever wondered what’s inside those filming trailers along your block?
