Alex Trebek set a Guinness record for number of episodes hosted
Alex Trebek has hosted 6,829 episodes of "Jeopardy!", a Guinness World Record for most game show episodes hosted by the same performer.
Alex Trebek began hosting "Jeopardy!" in 1984, and hasn't stopped since. If you're thinking that's a lot of episodes, you're right. It's 6,829 episodes, and it's a Guinness World Record for most game show episodes hosted by the same performer. That's 30 years of calmly guiding contestants to success, explaining how the game works and faultlessly reading off questions. Trebek graciously suggested that someone else would someday come along and break his record, but we all know he's just being nice.
Trebek called himself "lucky" to have been given the chance to host the show, as well as lucky in the degree to which the show caught on over the years. Watch him talk about the record in the video above.
