Amazon releases list of 100 books to read before you die

The best day to do your book shopping is this Friday. So many books, so little time.

Whether you use Amazon.com to do all your book shopping or just to buy the ones you’re too embarrassed to pick up in stores, one thing’s for sure: They have almost every title in print. Amazon’s editors know what you’re buying, what people are talking about and what’s overrated. (Reviews can be brutal.) They’ve compiled all that data to come up with a list of 100 books to put on your bucket list.

The list is a mix of required reading from high school (“1984,” “Fahrenheit 451”), classics (“Great Expectations”), books that have taken over the New York Times Best Seller List at one time or another (the “Harry Potter” series, “Gone Girl”) and even some you might not have heard of before. There are even children’s books, such as “Goodnight Moon” and “Charlotte’s Web.”

Check out the full list at www.amazon.com/100books. Don’t like what they picked? Hey, that’s what the comment section is for.
