Apparently comedic talent runs in the family. Amy Poehler, star of "Parks and Recreation," is teaming up with her baby brother Greg to create a sitcom based on his life. The new show is unlikely to step on Parks&Rec's toes: It's set in Sweden, where it will also be filmed.
NBC has acquired the American rights to "Welcome to Sweden," which will follow an American,Bruce, as he moves to Sweden to be with the love of his life. According to Deadline, the show will star Greg as Bruce in his acting debut, and the cast will include Lena Olin as his girlfriend's mom, Ileana Douglas and Patrick Duffy as his American parents, andJosephine Bornebusch as his Swedish sweetheart. "Welcome to Sweden" will be shot in Sweden, New York and LA, and will feature cameos from Aubrey Plaza, Will Ferrell, Gene Simmons and, of course, big sister Amy.
Poehler's been a busy lady:She and Jon Hamm hosted what must have been the coolest party ever after the Emmy Awards. And all you had to do to get in was not win an Emmy.
OK, that’s not all you had to do. Probably you also had to be their friend or something. Still, partying with “Mad Men”‘s Don Draper and the star of “Parks and Recreation” must have taken the sting out of their Emmy non-wins for stars like Aubrey Plaza, Elisabeth Moss and Zooey Deschanel.
