Blake Shelton, country superstar and The Voice judge, is 2017’s Sexiest Man Alive. How does he feel?
“That y’all must be running out of people,” he told People in this Friday’s cover story. “Like, Wow, we’re down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical.”
“I’ve been ugly my whole life,” he added in a statement, Reuters reported. “If I can be sexy for a year, I’m taking it!”
Shelton said his girlfriend of two years, Gwen Stefani, is the one who encouraged him to own his title.
“She goes, ‘Listen to me, you’re going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don’t take this gift and just live in the moment,” Shelton said.
The biggest buzz for the 41-year-old? Being able to stick it to Adam Levine, fellow The Voice judge and 2013’s Sexiest Man Alive.
“I can’t wait to shove this up Adam’s ass,” Shelton added. “As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that’s really the only thing I care about.”
Miranda Lambert’s ex-hubby is seriously going to enjoy rubbing this in the Maroon 5 frontman’s face.
“I’m not going to treat this like Hugh Jackman or one of those guys who’s humble about it. People are going to hate me over this,” Shelton joked, Reuters reported.
Shelton, whose latest album Texoma Shore reached No. 1 on this week’s Billboard Top Country Albums, said his 6-foot 5-inch frame has had plenty of awkward moments.
“I think to describe myself as a child, one word comes to mind. And that’s fat,” he said. “People say I haven’t changed since before I made it. And I’m still fat today. That’s proof!”
Previous title holders include Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, Ryan Reynolds and David Beckham.
