Tuesday night, Calysta Bevier showed the judges on “America’s Got Talent” that she is a fighter. At just 16, Bevier beat stage three ovarian cancer. Judge Howie Mandel said to the Ohio native, “You’re an inspiration. We can’t wait to hear you.”

“I kinda came here today to show people no matter what you’ve gone through to keep chasing your dreams,” she told the judges.

Bevier picked the perfect song to do just that. She belted out Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” and brought all the judges, including the tough Simon Cowell, to their feet. “I love everything about you,” Cowell said. “I just had this feeling I can’t explain it. Just your spirit, the choice of song, your voice — I think you’re really special.”

To show how much he loved the performance, Cowell hit the Golden Buzzer, which showered Bevier with confetti and signified that she had advanced to the live competition regardless of what the other judges thought.
