CeeLo’s phone didn’t actually explode in his face

Early on a Saturday, what appeared to be surveillance footage from inside a music studio showed singer and “The Voice” coach, CeeLo Green, becoming the latest victim of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. In the video, the 42-year-old appears to be talking on the phone when the device begins to emit smoke and ultimately explode on the side of his face. Cee Lo can be seen falling out of the chair and laying on the ground.

Other artists and fans alike took to Twitter to send prayers and well-wishes to the presumably injured CeeLo. Samsung also began trending on the social media platform.

But it may have all been a performance. In a Facebook Live video, CeeLo clarified that the footage was part of a “smaller video” that was intended to “set up a character” for a project called Gnarly Davidson. He apologized to fans that may have been “emotionally disturbed” by the clip and guaranteed that he was ok.

When promo goes wrong.

#PressPlay #CeeloGreen you good?
