Eddie Redmayne and wife welcome baby number two

It’s a boy! I mean, Eddie Redmayne is a boy. Well, technically a man. But Eddie Redmayne and wife Hannah Bagshawe also welcomed a baby boy on March 10 and um, hooray!

The couple welcomed baby number two, very Britishly named Luke Richard Bagshaw Redmayne, earlier this month, according to an announcement in The Sunday Times. Lil’ Luke joins big sister Iris Mary, 21 months.

“Eddie Redmayne, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in the 2014 film The Theory of Everything, has fathered a second child,” the announcement read. Also, LOL “fathered.” I thought that word was only used on paternity test themed episodes of Maury, but OK. “Redmayne, 36, and his wife, Hannah, 34, a public relations executive, have announced in The Times the birth last Saturday of their son, Luke Richard Bagshawe.”

Redmayne recently made the rounds to talk about expecting a second child and how hard it is to be the father of a newborn baby. Ha.

“We’ve just about got to that stage when we’re beginning to get sleep and remember what that word means,” he said jokingly, I presume, on Live with Kelly and Ryan. “Getting prepped to go back into the trenches.”

He continued said joking matter on The Ellen Degeneres Show back in November 2016, saying, “Before you’re a parent, you hear people talking about [not getting a lot of sleep], then suddenly you’re the guy who’s floating in a constant jet lagged [sense], with an IV of caffeine.”

He continued, “It’s that amazing thing when it’s 3 o’clock in the morning and you go in and you’re gently furious, and you get a little smile and your heart breaks a bit, and it’s totally worth it.”

Gosh, at least you didn’t have to tote that thing around in your uterus for several months. But whatever, congratulations!
