James Woods got in another Twitter spat

James Woods Creepy

James Woods is a dude I primarily remember for his role in “The Virgin Suicides,” a film about angsty, Caucasian children suffocated by their repressive parents and also, I don’t know, gender roles probably? Anyway, he primarily gets attention now by supporting Trump and saying insane things on Twitter. And now? Amber Tamblyn has accusing him of being a sexual predator.

Let’s start from the beginning, shall we? On Monday, he made a comment about an upcoming film — and festival hit — “Call Me By Your Name,” a gay romantic drama starring Armie Hammer. It’s about a graduate student who falls in love with his professor’s underage son, and honestly it looks really good. But James Woods doesn’t think so!

Conservative gay author Chad Felix Greene tweeted about the film, “24 year old man. 17 year old boy. Stop.” (For what it’s worth, Hollywood Reporter notes that the age of consent in California is 18; in Italy where the film is set, it is 14.)

Woods responded, saying “”As they quietly chip away the last barriers of decency,” which OK, everything doesn’t have to be about your agenda.

Hammer responded out of the blue saying, “Didn’t you date a 19 year old when you were 60…….?” Which yes! Woods did!

Then Amber Tamblyn chipped in: “James Woods tried to pick me and my friend up at a restaurant once,” the actress wrote on Twitter. “He wanted to take us to Vegas. ‘I’m 16’ I said. ‘Even better’ he said.” Oh, dear.

Woods eventually commented in the only way he knew: by claiming that Tamblyn was lying, and that he really loves Hammer’s work. Pardon me while I tear my hair out in fistfulls!

On Tuesday morning, Tamblyn gave the skeptics a lil’ something by way of screenshot. “Since I know people love to question the [integrity] and honesty of women when they come forward with stories like this, here you go,” she wrote. She attached a screenshot of a convo with her friend — who confirmed the run in with Woods so many years ago.

In short: ew, gross. Dude is on some creepy ish, man.
