Lady Gaga is dodging Dr. Luke’s subpoena in case against Kesha

Lady Gaga Leopard Queen

The Kesha vs Dr. Luke saga continues — and now, Lady Gaga is involved.

Kesha’s former producer and alleged abuser officially subpoenaed Lady Gaga for a deposition on Saturday, based on text messages that Kesha exchanged with the “Perfect Illusion” singer. In the texts from 2013, Kesha details an incident of alleged sexual assault, calling Luke a serial rapist.

So now, the doctor without a doctor degree wants Gaga to turn over the texts. The producer subpoenaed the messages from Gaga earlier this year, but she replied with a “heavily-redacted, four page spreadsheet of the text messages,” according to Luke’s lawyer, Jeffrey Movit. “One of the four pages was redacted in its entirety.”

Gaga reportedly has refused requests to remove the redactions, saying that “the redacted materials are irrelevant and address unspecified ‘private matters,’” Movit says.

Luke and his team have also apparently been trying to get Gaga — née Stefani Germanotta — to sit for a deposition since March. But her lawyer is like, “No thanks, baby girl has a world tour to prepare for, what are you even doing?” “Germanotta’s counsel continues to provide [him] with a date for her deposition and claims Germanotta cannot appear for a deposition because she is commencing her world tour on Aug. 1, 2017,” Movit says. Yeah, some of us have lives!

Gaga — who has publically supported Kesha throughout her ordeal — had a message of her own for Dr. Luke over the weekend, too. Well, a rep for her did at least. “As Lady Gaga‘s legal team will present to the court, she has provided all of the relevant information in her possession and is at most an ancillary witness in this process,” the rep wrote. “Dr. Luke’s team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga‘s role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests.” Ooh, burn.

Y’all know I’m vehemently #TeamKesha on this one, so here’s hoping.
