Matt Damon is cool with Kyrie Irving’s flat Earth beliefs

Matt Damon may not agree with Kyrie Irving about his flat Earth beliefs, but that won’t stop the actor from cheering on the new Celtics star this season.

The Cambridge native joined his “Suburbicon” co-star Julianne Moore to answer some of the Internet’s most searched questions about themselves in a new video for Wired. One question that popped up asked if Damon was a flat earther, which prompted him to bring up Boston’s new point guard.

“I am not. I’m pretty convinced that the Earth is round,” Damon said. “Though Kyrie Irving, the point guard for the Boston Celtics who is a flat earther, is very welcome in Boston and we love him.”

Maybe Damon can take Irving on a field trip over to the Museum of Science the next time he’s in town.

Aside from chiming in on the flat Earth debate, Damon answered several other of the Internet’s burning questions about the Boston actor. Queries ranged from whether or not he’s related to his best friend for life Ben Affleck (sort of) and if he’s ever appeared on HBO’s “Game of Thrones” (no).

And in a not-so-shocking reveal, Damon also tried to settle the mystery over whether he’s dead or not. Let’s just say even the Oscar winner isn’t 100 percent sure about that one.

“I hope not,” Damon said. “Well, maybe culturally speaking. Maybe I’m over. ‘He’s so dead.'”

Damon received a similar question in a second round of search queries, which forced the actor to question his reality.

“This is like ‘The Others,’ like I don’t realize that I’m dead,” Damon joked. “My life is one long press junket and I just sit here going like, ‘Wow. This is still happening.'”
