The Word: Check out this rare Star Wars blooper reel

Oh boy, new "Star Wars" footage! And George Lucas hasn't even ruined it by making someone shoot first who didn't shoot first!

Employee Simon Domoney adjusts a Captain Rex figure alongside a scale replica of Star Wars character Darth Vader's helmet at the Forbidden Planet memorabilia and comic store in London May 11, 2013. "Star Wars" fans will take what we can get.

Oh boy, new "Star Wars" footage! And George Lucas hasn't even ruined it by making someone shoot first who didn't shoot first!

This rare outtake reel from the set of the first "Star Wars" film was unearthed from the Lucasfilm vault by author J.W. Rinzler while he was working on his book "The Making of Star Wars (Enhanced Edition)". It was screened at San Diego Comic Con this year, but wasn't expected to be publicly available.

But this is 2013, and the world's thirst for new "Star Wars" content has not been slaked, so: somehow, YouTube.

I'm not sure what my favorite part of this is. Harrison Ford eating his microphone? A landspeeder abruptly turning back into a truck? Actors accidentally getting too into character and breaking their alien fingers? Mark Hamill sweetly wondering how to pronounce "supernova?" Nah, the winner by a mile are the Keystone Kop stormtroopers. If you thought they looked bumbling in the movie, wait till you see them in the shots that didn't make it in.
