Christina Aguilera arrested for public intoxication

Booze-fueled night ends with singer in the slammer, but no charges<br />

Someone must not have told Christina Aguilera that if she rubs her bottle the right way, she could come face-to-face with cops, public embarrassment and a soon-to-be criminal boyfriend.

On Tuesday morning the "Genie in a Bottle" singer was briefly taken into police custody for public drunkenness, People reports.

The actress, 30, was wasted in the passenger seat of a car driven by her boyfriend, Matthew Rutler, who was cited for drunk driving after they were pulled over due to Rutler squealing his tires, "burning rubber" and speeding, reports the L.A. Times. Aguilera was taken into custody because she was so drunk she “was unable to care for herself,” according to TMZ.com. At press time, it was announced Aguilera won’t be charged.

In related news, it just so happens this went down on the same day "Burlesque" was released to DVD. Coincidence?
