Classy to trashy: The AMAs vs. the Grammys

Here at Metro, we embrace both the classy and the trashy. We have just as passionate conversations about high-end designers as we do about the latest Gwyneth Paltrow/Martha Stewart fight. And while we love all the year’s biggest music events – the Grammys, the MTV Music Awards and the American Music Awards – when we compare them, we can’t help buy notice some key differences.

Both nights start, of course, with the red carpet and while the trends at the Grammys included floor-length gowns, lace and lots of sparkle, the AMAs were all about t&a. From Kylie Jenner’s vampy look to whatever the heck Bleona Qereti wore, skin was last night’s biggest trend.

As for performances, Beyonce was the highlight of the Grammys. This year’s big AMA performer – who was also nominated for six awards – was Iggy Azaela. We love us some Iggy, but can you even compare the two?

Are we alone in this classy to trashy comparison? Tell us where you stand in the comments.
