Imagine a time before the paparazzi caught every celebrity's move on camera and there were no gossip blogs. Hollywood's leading men and women were free to get drunk, hook up and act out without fear that it would be all over the Internet the next day. So wouldn't you like to know what crazy antics they got into? A new book, "Of All The Gin Joints" (out September 30) is exposing those stories.
From a young Natalie Wood being lured into a bathtub filled with champagne to join an orgy (she jumped out when the alcohol stung her, er, nether regions) to Elizabeth Taylor drunkenly jumping into a public fountain with Montgomery Clift while on location for "Raintree County," the stories are pretty priceless. And better yet, cocktail recipes are included throughout the book.
Structured into four sections ranging in date from 1895 to 1979, author Mark Bailey dug up the best stories from the vaults of Hollywood for us all to enjoy.
