VIDEO: Edward Norton spoofs Wes Anderson, Owen Wilson on SNL

Edward Norton was spot-on in his impersonation of Owen Wilson last night during an SNL spoof of Wes Anderson. Norton played Wilson for a mock trailer for the Wes Anderson thriller, “The Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders.” Spoiler alert: The parody trailer makes us very glad that Anderson has no horror movies in the works.

Norton donned a blond, shaggy wig and a tan blazer to play a dead ringer for Wilson and nailed the actor’s goofy manner of speech. The matching Adidas tracksuits from “The Royal Tenenbaums” make a comeback, as does a fake Danny Glover, and naturally, Wes Anderson’s signature block yellow font is stamped all over the video. The trailer imagines Wilson and Gwyneth Paltrow locked in their home as murderers outside close in on them and their two “precocious” children.

The mock trailer proves that a horror movie by Wes Anderson would be about as scary as “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” though it certainly would be quirky, charming and hip.

The timing of the Saturday Night Live Skit is certainly not a coincidence. Wes Anderson recently released the trailer for his upcoming movie, “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” setting the Internet abuzz.
